Although I’ve rather wandered away from my original purpose in blogging – to share my experience of depression in the hope that it would help others – I still occasionally acquire followers with the same interest. One such is Ella, who followed my blog a few months ago. She writes openly, honestly and, I believe, bravely about what she is going through. This week in the UK is Mental Health Awareness Week, and I’m sharing Ella’s post on it by way of introduction. I hope you’ll follow her blog too.
This week (16th-22nd May) is Mental Health Awareness Week – focusing on the theme of relationships. As someone who lives with mental illness I wanted to mark the week by sharing my own thoughts and experience of mental health – the good and the bad. I also wanted to raise further awareness of the fantastic events and conversations taking place to support Mental Health Awareness Week 2016.
Heads Together
There’s been multiple events across the UK today – notably the launch of Heads Together – a mental health campaign led by charities such as Mind, YoungMinds and more:
